Elstead Carisbrooke Chandelier

Choosing a chandelier for a period-influenced or gothic-inspired interior means balancing visual drama with practical installation reality — getting the drop wrong, or discovering the fitting won't work with your ceiling height after the fact, is a frustratingly common project setback.

For multi-arm decorative chandeliers, the two decisions that matter most before ordering are: how the light will be suspended and at what height, and whether the fitting can adapt to the room's ceiling. Chain-hung fittings offer flexibility, but not every space has the ceiling depth to carry a full pendant drop elegantly.

The Elstead Carisbrooke Chandelier is a candelabra-style gothic fitting from Elstead Lighting, a respected British manufacturer with a long track record in decorative specification. It features six sweeping arms emerging from a central hub, each terminating in a cream-coloured candle tube and bobeche — with hand-bound wire drapes lending the fitting its distinctive, almost sculptural character. The matte black metalwork and fluid, willow-like silhouette make it equally at home in a rural finca, a boutique hotel lobby, or a classically styled dining room. IP20 rated, it is suited to dry interior environments.

The Carisbrooke range includes models — specifically the CB3, CB5, and CB6 — that incorporate a flush-convert system, allowing straightforward adaptation from chain-hung to semi-flush mounting. This is a practical advantage in rooms where ceiling height is limited or where a more compact profile is preferred. Optional glass is available across the full range for those wanting a more enclosed or refined look.

Lamps are not included; the candelabra-style sockets accept standard E14 candle bulbs, giving you flexibility to choose filament, LED candle, or dimmable options to suit your control setup. As an IP20 fitting, the Carisbrooke is intended for dry interior use only — unsuitable for bathrooms or covered outdoor areas without additional protection.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we help you specify decorative fittings that actually work in your space — right ceiling height, right lamp choice, right control compatibility — so nothing gets ordered twice. The Carisbrooke is the kind of considered, design-led piece that rewards careful specification, and we're here to make sure yours lands perfectly.
