Elstead Carisbrooke Chandelier

Choosing a chandelier that holds its own as a decorative statement — not just a light source — means getting the balance of scale, style, and installation flexibility right from the start. Get it wrong and you end up with something that either disappears into the room or fights with the architecture around it.

For period-style and Gothic-influenced interiors, the detailing matters enormously. Hand-crafted elements, the quality of metalwork, and the visual texture of wire and candle forms all contribute to whether a fitting reads as authentic or merely decorative. Suspension method also plays a practical role: chain-hung chandeliers offer height flexibility, but not every ceiling suits a full drop.

The Elstead Carisbrooke Chandelier addresses these considerations directly. Part of Elstead's Carisbrooke range — made in England — it is a candelabra-style chandelier built around a dark, textured metal frame with sweeping curved arms and a distinctive cage-like open silhouette. Hand-bound wire drapes connect the central column to the outer arms, and ivory-coloured candle tubes complete the period aesthetic with a high-contrast, Gothic sensibility. The range is IP20 rated, making it suitable for dry indoor spaces.

The Carisbrooke range is designed with adaptability in mind. The complete range accepts optional glass for those who want additional visual refinement or light diffusion. Select models within the range — the CB3, CB5, and CB6 — also incorporate a flush convert system, allowing the fitting to be adapted from a chain-hung chandelier to a semi-flush ceiling mount without replacing the fixture. This is a genuinely useful feature for rooms with lower ceilings or where a full drop is impractical.

As an IP20 interior fitting, the Carisbrooke is suited to living rooms, dining spaces, hallways, and stairwells where ambient, decorative lighting is the priority. Lamp type and driver requirements should be confirmed at the point of specification; Elstead's candelabra fittings typically accept flame-shaped candelabra bulbs to maintain the period appearance. Check compatibility with any dimming system before purchase.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we work with specification-led ranges like Carisbrooke precisely because they solve real installation problems — not just aesthetic ones. The flush convert option, optional glass compatibility, and made-in-England build quality make this a considered choice for projects where design intent and practical delivery need to align. We're here to help you confirm the right model, the right lamp, and the right mounting approach for your space.
