Elstead Bowtie Flush Bathroom Ceiling Light

Choosing a ceiling light for a bathroom sounds straightforward until you realise not every fitting is rated for moisture exposure — and fitting the wrong one in the wrong zone is both a safety issue and a costly mistake.

Bathrooms are divided into zones based on their proximity to water sources. Zone 2 — which covers areas up to 0.6 metres outside the bath or shower perimeter and up to 2.25 metres from the floor — requires a minimum IP44 rating. IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid objects over 1mm and against water splashing from any direction. The Elstead Bowtie flush ceiling light meets this threshold, making it suitable for Zone 2 installation and beyond.

The Elstead Bowtie Flush Bathroom Ceiling Light is a two-lamp flush-mount fitting from Elstead Lighting's Bowtie range — a UK-designed collection built around a signature flared metal silhouette. The IP44 rating gives it genuine bathroom credentials, while its clean opal glass diffuser delivers soft, even ambient light across the ceiling plane.

The fixture pairs a matte black steel outer shade — shaped as a flared, outward-opening cone — with a white opal glass bowl diffuser that softens the light source and eliminates hotspots. The contrast between the dark exterior and bright diffuser creates a contemporary, architectural look that works equally well in bathrooms, utility rooms, and cloakrooms. The range includes matching wall lights with the same bowtie design element, making coordinated schemes straightforward to specify.

The Bowtie flush light is a close-ceiling design, sitting flat against the surface — ideal for rooms where ceiling height is limited. Lamp type and driver requirements should be confirmed at the point of order; as a two-lamp fitting, ensure your chosen lamp type and any associated dimming equipment are compatible before installation. The product carries a standard two-year manufacturer's warranty.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we help you specify bathroom lighting that actually works — right IP rating, right zone, right aesthetic. The Elstead Bowtie is the kind of considered, value-engineered choice that avoids expensive corrections on site and coordinates cleanly across a scheme.
