Elstead Asheville Table Lamp

Choosing a decorative table lamp is rarely just about aesthetics — the wrong piece can feel too heavy for a space, too generic for a considered interior, or simply fail to create the warmth and ambience you were imagining. With Tiffany-style lighting in particular, quality varies enormously, and the difference between a piece that elevates a room and one that undermines it usually comes down to the craft behind the glass.

Traditional Tiffany art glass is made using the copper foil method — a technique pioneered by Louis Comfort Tiffany in which individual pieces of coloured glass are wrapped in thin copper tape, then soldered together to form the shade. This is distinct from cheaper alternatives that use paint or film overlays. The result is genuine translucency: each glass panel diffuses light in its own way, creating a warm, layered glow rather than a flat wash of colour.

The Elstead Asheville Table Lamp is built on exactly this principle. Part of Elstead's Asheville collection, the shade is hand-assembled using the copper foil method, combining cream, honey amber, and deep burgundy art glass panels in an abstract, flowing pattern. The four-sided pyramidal shade sits above an open-frame pedestal base featuring parallel vertical curved bars with decorative scrollwork — all finished in a rich Valiant Bronze. A dual pull-chain switch provides independent control over two bulb positions within the shade cluster.

The Asheville collection draws on classic traditional styling, and this piece brings a strong architectural character to that heritage. The geometric cage-like base contrasts with the soft warmth of the glass above, making it a piece that rewards close attention as much as it works from across the room. No variant options are currently listed, making specification straightforward.

The Asheville Table Lamp carries an IP20 rating, meaning it is suitable for dry interior locations away from water sources — ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, studies, or hotel suites. Lamp type and bulb requirements should be confirmed at point of specification; the dual-socket configuration means light output can be adjusted using the independent pull-chain controls without a wall dimmer. The product is covered by a 2-year warranty.
