Elstead Asheville Semi-Flush Ceiling Light

Choosing a decorative ceiling light for a traditional or transitional interior means balancing character with restraint — find something too fussy and it dominates the room; too plain and it disappears entirely. The Asheville sits squarely in the sweet spot.

For a semi-flush fitting, the art glass shade does the heavy lifting. Light passes through translucent glass panels and softens as it goes, creating warm ambience rather than a stark overhead wash. The copper foil construction method — originally developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany — means individual glass pieces are wrapped in copper foil tape and soldered together, producing crisp, precise leading lines that hold the pattern with far more detail than traditional leaded glass.

The Elstead Asheville Semi-Flush Ceiling Light brings that craftsmanship into a square, inverted-pyramid form finished in Valiant Bronze — a deep, grounded tone that anchors the traditional styling without feeling heavy. The hand-assembled art glass shade features stylised elongated leaf and petal motifs in cream, amber, and dark brown, lending warmth and a sense of considered detail to the finished ceiling.

The square geometry of the shade is a distinguishing feature: most Tiffany-style semi-flush fittings are circular, so the Asheville reads as more architectural and considered — well suited to hallways, landings, dining rooms, or any space where classic detailing is part of the design brief.

The Asheville is rated IP20, meaning it is suitable for dry indoor locations only — bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, and dining spaces are all appropriate. It is designed to accept two lamps (not included), so lamp choice will influence the warmth and character of light through the glass; warm white sources in the 2700K range are strongly recommended to complement the amber and cream tones of the shade. Always check maximum wattage and lamp type compatibility before installation.
