Elstead Arabella Wall Light

Choosing a decorative wall light for a corridor or compact room often comes down to one overlooked factor: projection. A fixture that juts too far from the wall becomes a hazard; one that sits too flat loses its decorative presence. Getting that balance right matters more than most people realise until they're already holding a drill.

For spaces where wall depth is limited, a flush or near-flush sconce is the practical answer. The half-moon profile — a semi-cylindrical form that mounts flat to the wall — keeps protrusion minimal while still delivering meaningful ambient light. The internal shade and diffuser combination is what separates a decorative light that actually works from one that just looks good in a showroom: together they soften the source, reduce glare, and cast warm, even light across the surrounding wall surface.

The Elstead Arabella Wall Light delivers exactly that. This half-moon sconce from UK-based Elstead features an intricate Moroccan-style quatrefoil lattice in a distressed gold metal finish — a pattern of repeated geometric cutouts that casts decorative shadow play onto the wall behind. An inner cream linen fabric shade, paired with a glass diffuser, softens the light output and adds warmth and atmosphere without visual noise. It is designed for diffused ambient illumination in interior spaces.

The distressed gold finish gives the Arabella a transitional character — ornate enough to anchor a hallway or bedroom feature wall, restrained enough not to dominate a carefully composed scheme. The structured geometric pattern sits in interesting tension with the softness of the linen shade, making it a considered choice where layered texture is part of the design language.

The Arabella is designed for retrofit LED lamp compatibility, meaning you can specify an LED source of your choosing for efficiency and longevity — no integrated LED lock-in. Lamp type and wattage should be confirmed against Elstead's specification sheet before ordering. No driver or transformer is required for standard mains-voltage use. The fixture comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty.
