Elstead Aegean Chandelier

Choosing a chandelier for a traditional or transitional interior often comes down to one risk: getting the balance between decorative presence and material quality wrong. A fitting that looks refined in a photograph can feel lightweight or poorly finished in person — particularly when the metalwork lacks depth or the glass details are generic.

For decorative chandeliers like this, what matters most is craft and finish authenticity. Hand-forged metalwork carries a different visual weight and surface character to cast or pressed alternatives — you can see it in the variation of the scroll profile and feel it in the patination. Cut glass, rather than pressed glass, refracts light with greater clarity and definition, adding movement and atmosphere to a room without needing high lumen output to do so.

The Elstead Aegean Chandelier addresses exactly this. Part of the wider Aegean family from Elstead Lighting — a UK manufacturer with a long specification pedigree — this three-light fitting combines hand-forged scroll arms with teardrop glass droplets and cut-glass bobeche sconces at each candle holder. The open-frame central body and twisted metal finial give it structural detail that rewards close inspection. It suits both contemporary and classical interior settings.

The Aegean Chandelier is available in three finishes: Aged Brass, Polished Nickel, and Polished Brass. The Aged Brass variant carries a muted gold tone with darker patination in the recessed areas of the scrollwork — a good choice where warmth and depth matter. Polished Nickel and Polished Brass offer a cleaner, more formal presence.

The fitting is suspended via a metal chain with an integrated electrical cord and uses three candle-style lamp holders with matching finish sleeves. It is noted as flush convertible, meaning the chain can be removed and the fitting mounted closer to the ceiling — useful where ceiling height is limited or a semi-flush profile is preferred. Flame-shaped candle bulbs are shown installed; lamp type and inclusion should be confirmed at point of specification.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we treat chandelier selection as a specification decision — not just an aesthetic one. That means matching finish to the project's material palette, confirming mounting height and chain-drop requirements early, and sourcing with lead times in mind. The Aegean sits within a broader family of coordinating wall lights, which simplifies specification across multiple rooms or zones of the same project.
