CRI 92 renders colours, finishes, and materials accurately
Deep recessed aperture controls glare at the source
Square profile with circular aperture for architectural contrast
IP20 rated for dry interior spaces

One of the most common mistakes in ceiling lighting is treating the fitting as an afterthought. Plaster downlights solve a specific problem: visible hardware that interrupts a finished ceiling. When the goal is a seamless, architectural result, the fitting itself needs to disappear — and most standard metal or plastic downlights simply cannot do that.

Plaster and ceramic fittings are designed to be skimmed, taped, and painted as part of the ceiling finish. Once installed and decorated, only the aperture is visible — the housing becomes part of the architecture. CRI, or Colour Rendering Index, measures how accurately a light source reveals true colours; a CRI of 92 sits well above the standard 80 threshold, meaning finishes, fabrics, and artwork read as the designer intended.

The Brick In The Wall Pixo Recessed Downlight is built precisely for this. Its square outer frame with a stepped, tiered profile adds a quiet geometric detail, while the deep circular recessed aperture minimises direct glare from the light source. With a CRI of 92 and an IP20 rating — suitable for dry interior spaces — it is a considered specification for living areas, corridors, bedrooms, and refined commercial interiors where the ceiling should look intentional, not busy.

The Pixo presents a deliberate contrast: a sharp square perimeter against a soft circular internal well, finished uniformly in white plaster or ceramic. The material allows the fitting to be painted on-site to match the surrounding ceiling colour, offering complete visual integration into any interior palette.

The Pixo carries an IP20 rating, meaning it is intended for dry interior environments only and is not suitable for bathrooms or exterior use. Lamp, driver, and dimming compatibility details should be confirmed at the point of specification — contact Lightsource Mallorca to ensure the full system is correctly matched before installation.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we work with products like the Pixo because specification decisions matter beyond the product itself — the right lamp, the right driver, and the right dimming method all affect the finished result. We help you get those decisions right before work begins, reducing costly changes on site and ensuring the ceiling looks exactly as it should on the day it is lit.

Brick In The Wall Lighting

Belgian Lighting

Brick In The Wall is a specialist manufacturer focused on plaster-integrated lighting a category that demands as much construction knowledge as it does lighting expertise. Their products are engineered to become part of the architecture rather than sit on top of it, making them a natural choice for designers and specifiers who treat the ceiling as a finished surface, not a mounting point. The Pixo range reflects that philosophy: precise geometric forms, high CRI light sources, and a plaster or ceramic construction that accepts paint and plaster finishes on-site. For projects where the detail is in what you do not see, Brick In The Wall delivers the technical foundation to make that possible.

FAQs

Can the Pixo downlight be painted to match my ceiling?

Yes. Because the Pixo is made from plaster or ceramic, it can be painted on-site after installation, just like the surrounding ceiling surface. This allows full visual integration — the fitting effectively disappears into the ceiling finish.

What does CRI 92 mean and why does it matter?

CRI stands for Colour Rendering Index. It measures how accurately a light source reveals the true colours of objects compared to natural daylight. A CRI of 92 is notably high — the standard minimum is 80 — meaning finishes, fabrics, artwork, and skin tones will appear as intended rather than washed out or distorted.

Is the Pixo suitable for bathroom installation?

No. The Pixo carries an IP20 rating, which means it is designed for dry interior environments only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms, or any space where moisture or water ingress is a risk. For wet or damp zones, an IP65 or higher rated fitting is required.

Is a driver or lamp included with the Pixo?

Driver and lamp details should be confirmed at the point of specification. Contact Lightsource Mallorca before ordering to ensure the correct lamp type, driver, and any dimming components are selected to work as a complete, compatible system.

What ceiling types is the Pixo designed for?

The Pixo is designed for flush installation into plasterboard or plastered ceilings, where the housing can be integrated and finished as part of the ceiling surface. It is not intended as a surface-mounted or exposed decorative fitting.
