FAQs

What does IP54 mean and which bathroom zones is the Pixo suitable for?

IP54 means the fitting is protected against limited dust ingress and water splashing from any direction. This makes it suitable for bathroom areas where moisture or occasional splashing is possible, but not for zones directly above a bath or shower where water jets or immersion are likely. If in doubt, check your zone layout against IEC 60529 classifications — we can help with this.

What is CRI 92 and why does it matter in a bathroom?

CRI stands for Colour Rendering Index — it measures how accurately a light source shows the true colours of surfaces and skin tones compared to natural daylight. A score of 92 is considered high quality (90+ is the threshold for excellent rendering), meaning tiles, finishes, and skin tones will all look as intended rather than washed out or shifted.

Can the Pixo be painted to match the ceiling?

Yes. The plaster and ceramic construction is specifically designed to be skimmed and painted as part of the ceiling finish. This is the defining characteristic of Brick In The Wall products — the fitting is intended to disappear into the ceiling plane entirely once decorated.

Is this a standard clip-in downlight or does it require specialist installation?

The Pixo is not a clip-in or surface-fix downlight. It is a plaster-integration fitting that needs to be set into the ceiling substrate before finishing — which means the lighting installer and plastering trades need to work in sequence. This is standard practice for Brick In The Wall products and should be planned into the construction programme from the start.

Are lamp and driver included with the Pixo?

Lamp and driver configuration for the Pixo should be confirmed at the point of specification, as Brick In The Wall products are often supplied as part of a configurable system. Contact Lightsource Mallorca to confirm what is included and what needs to be specified separately for your project.
