The A-Emotional Light V Pendant, designed by Héctor Serrano, does exactly that. Its wide, oblate biconical shade is constructed from an open-weave lattice of intersecting flat slats, creating a complex geometric cage around a central translucent cylindrical diffuser. The result is a pendant that casts intricate patterns of light and shadow onto walls and ceilings — sculptural when lit, and just as striking when it isn't.
