For ambient wall lighting, the relationship between the shade material and the light source is everything. A semi-transparent surface acts as a diffuser — softening the point source — while any texture or open weave in that surface creates patterned, directional light spill on the surrounding wall. The denser and more irregular the texture, the richer and more dynamic that effect becomes.

The A-Emotional Light Tati Decorative Wall Light, designed by Arturo Álvarez, is built around this principle. Its convex, cocoon-like form is constructed from painted stainless steel mesh — small repeating circles forming an irregular, organic carapace. Light filters through the gaps to cast a shimmering, rippling pattern of hills, shadows, and halos on the wall behind it. The effect shifts subtly depending on the ambient light conditions in the room.

The Tati has a seamless, hardware-free outward face, giving it an almost sculptural quality at rest. The collection is available in four colourways: Taupe, Grey, Beige, and White — each a neutral that sits comfortably within contemporary, Mediterranean, and organic-modern interiors alike.
