The A-Emotional Light Mytilus Wall Light is a decorative wall-mounted luminaire designed by Arturo Álvarez. Inspired by the seabed in motion — waves, marine currents, and the organic geometry of underwater life — the Mytilus takes its name and form from the world beneath the surface. A single, asymmetrical piece of fine-gauge metal mesh is sculpted into an undulating, shell-like shade, with a central opal globe diffuser that conceals the light source and ensures even, glare-free illumination. The result is layered, dimensional light that shifts as you move around it.

The design avoids hard lines entirely. Overlapping folds of the mesh create a moiré effect — a subtle visual interference pattern that adds depth and texture as viewing angles change — giving the piece a handcrafted, naturalistic quality that reads differently under different light conditions. The shade is finished in a uniform white or off-white tone that keeps the focus on form rather than colour.
