A-Emotional Light Agasallo Pendant

Choosing a statement pendant is rarely just about looks. The risk is selecting something that photographs beautifully but delivers the wrong quality of light — too harsh, too directional, or simply out of character with the space it anchors. Agasallo is designed to avoid exactly that.

For ambient, diffused illumination, the shade material matters as much as the light source itself. A semi-transparent mesh allows light to permeate the surface softly, scattering warmth across the surrounding space rather than directing a beam downward. The result is atmosphere — the kind that makes a room feel considered rather than lit.

The A-Emotional Light Agasallo Pendant is designed by Héctor Serrano for the Spanish brand A-Emotional Light, whose signature material is moulded, hand-painted metal mesh. The Agasallo 3 measures 30cm in diameter and is one of the more voluminous pendants in the range. Its form is not engineered in the conventional sense — a thread is drawn through points on a cylinder and pulled taut, allowing the mesh to gather naturally into soft, organic peaks at the suspension point. No rigid frame forces the shape; tension does the work, and the result is different every time.

The silhouette takes its name from the Galician word for gift, and the resemblance to a gathered fabric pouch is unmistakable. The hand-painted finish amplifies the effect — light catches the granular, shimmering texture unevenly, producing a non-uniform play of highlight and shadow across the surface. Available in Beige, White, Grey, and Taupe, each finish responds differently to the light within.

The Agasallo is rated IP20, making it suitable for dry interior spaces. It is suspended by a slim black cable attached at the central gather. The range is available in four pendant sizes that can be combined at varying heights to create multi-pendant compositions — consult with us for project-specific grouping advice.
