For a wall light like this, the key decisions are placement, projection, and lamp compatibility. The extension from wall to face of fitting — how far it protrudes — determines whether it reads as a sculptural accent or an obstacle. The socket type tells you which lamps you can use: E14 is the small candelabra cap, widely available in filament, candle, and globe forms. IP20 means it is rated for dry interior environments only — suitable for living rooms, hallways, and kitchens, and for bathroom zones where splash exposure is not a risk.

The Visual Comfort Liaison Medium Sconce, designed by Kelly Wearstler, answers the proportion question with a deliberately slim, vertical profile. A cylindrical crackle-glass shade — 53.3 cm tall and just 13.3 cm wide — is centred on a circular antique-burnished brass backplate and secured by a matching brass band. Two E14 candelabra sockets sit inside the tube, one directed upward and one downward, casting ambient light in both directions. The crackle texture diffuses the bulb light across the fractured glass surface, softening glare and creating a warm, textured glow rather than a harsh point source.

The transitionally modern aesthetic — structured brass hardware paired with heavily textured glass — sits comfortably in both classic and contemporary interiors. The fixture is available in Antique-Burnished Brass and Bronze, allowing it to coordinate with a broad range of hardware and furniture finishes.

This is a lamped fitting: lamps are not included and must be sourced separately. Two E14 candelabra-cap bulbs are required, rated up to 40W T6.5 (tubular incandescent form) each. The fitting is IP20 Class I, meaning it must be connected to a protective earth — standard for most wired UK and European installations. The 13.3 cm round backplate and 12.7 cm extension make it well-suited to narrow wall runs, mirror flanking, or bedside placement where projection depth is a constraint. Weight is 3.6 kg, so a solid wall fixing is advisable.
