High-ceiling spaces are an opportunity — but choosing the wrong pendant can leave them feeling either cluttered or underwhelming. The challenge is finding a statement piece with the visual scale to hold the space, without overwhelming the architecture around it.

For tall voids and double-height rooms, a vertically composed pendant with genuine material presence is often the right answer. Light diffusion quality matters here too: CRI (Colour Rendering Index) measures how accurately a light source renders colour, and at 90+ it means the natural tones and veining of decorative materials — like stone — read true rather than flat.

The Visual Comfort Collier Pendant, designed by Sean Lavin, answers that brief directly. Eighteen stacked, faceted stone segments in translucent natural stone — each uniquely veined in warm brown and cream — are strung on polished metal hardware to create a jewellery-inspired vertical column of diffused light. With CRI 90, the natural variation in the stone reads exactly as intended. Rated IP20, it is suited to dry interior environments.

The Collier has a strikingly narrow profile that works in grand hallways, stairwells, dining rooms, and double-height living spaces where vertical drama is the point. The rhythmic, faceted geometry gives it architectural discipline, while the natural stone ensures no two pendants are identical. It is available in Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass or Polished Nickel, and in 2700K (a warm, relaxed tone) or 3000K (a crisper, more neutral white).
