FAQs

Where is the Claymore Sconce best used?

It is designed for dry indoor environments (IP20 rating) such as hallways, entryways, living rooms, and dining rooms. It is not suitable for bathrooms or areas with moisture exposure.

How does the Claymore produce its light effect?

The light source is concealed behind the textured front panel. This prevents direct glare and instead produces soft uplighting and wall-washing — light that travels across the wall surface to create ambient warmth rather than direct projection.

What finishes are available?

The Claymore Sconce is available in two hand-applied living finishes: Gilded Iron and Burnished Silver Leaf. These are characteristic of Visual Comfort's Signature Collection and develop subtle character over time.

If I'm installing several sconces in a row, how far apart should they be?

Visual Comfort recommends a minimum of 8 to 10 feet (approximately 2.4 to 3 metres) between fixtures when using multiple sconces in a hallway, dining room, or similar space. This ensures a balanced spread of ambient light without clustering.

What is the warranty on the Claymore Sconce?

The Claymore Sconce carries a 1-year manufacturer's warranty. If you have questions about installation, lamp compatibility, or long-term specification support, the Lightsource Studio team can assist.
