FAQs

Which finishes is the Claret Tail Sconce available in?

It is available in two finishes: Burnished Silver Leaf and Gild. Burnished Silver Leaf offers a cooler, antiqued tone, while Gild brings a warmer, gold-leaf character — both complement the clear crystal work distinctly differently.

Is this sconce suitable for a bathroom or outdoor use?

No. The Claret Tail Sconce is rated IP20, which means it is designed for dry interior spaces only — no moisture exposure. It is well suited to bedrooms, dining rooms, and dressing rooms, but should not be installed in bathrooms or any wet or damp zones.

How much wall space does the crystal tail require?

The decorative crystal tail extends significantly below the main drum shade, so the fixture's total visual height is considerably greater than the shade alone. We recommend confirming the full fixture dimensions during specification to ensure adequate clearance — particularly above furniture or in lower-ceilinged rooms.

How far apart should multiple Claret sconces be spaced?

When installing more than one sconce in a hallway, dining room, or living space, a minimum spacing of approximately 2.4 to 3 metres (8 to 10 feet) between fixtures is recommended to achieve a balanced spread of light without the arrangement feeling crowded.

Is a lamp included, and what type does it take?

Lamp inclusion should be confirmed at point of order. Visual Comfort fixtures of this style typically accept a candelabra-base source (E12 in the US, E14 in European specification) within the drum shade. We can advise on the correct lamp type and colour temperature for your project.
