For bathroom wall lighting, IP44 is the minimum rating required for Zone 2 — the area within 60cm of a bath or shower. It means the fitting is protected against water splashing from any direction. Equally important is lamp compatibility: E27 is a standard screw fitting, giving you flexibility over bulb type, colour temperature, and whether you dim or not.

The Quintiesse Rigby 3-Light Bathroom Wall Light is a three-lamp wall-mounted vanity fixture that answers both the technical and aesthetic brief. Rated IP44, it's suitable for bathroom use and accepts three E27 lamps (not included) up to 40W each. It's compatible with dimmable lamps, so if your circuit has a dimmer in place, you can pair it with suitable dimmable E27 bulbs — filament-style lamps will look especially at home here given the design intent.

Inspired by American barn lighting and reworked into a retro-industrial interior fixture, the Rigby is built from steel and features a layered shade construction: dark metal mesh cones over cylindrical clear seeded glass shades, each accented with a brass-finished rim. The seeded glass — characterised by small trapped air bubbles — softens the bulb's glow and adds warmth and texture to the light output. The horizontal bar supports three evenly spaced light assemblies, each oriented downward, making it well suited to above-mirror placement. It is available in Polished Chrome or Antique Nickel & Heritage Brass — the latter pairing cool brushed metal on the arm and canopy with warm golden tones on the socket covers and shade rims.

Three E27 lamps are required and are not included with the fitting. Maximum wattage per lamp is 40W. The fixture is compatible with dimmable lamps — check that your dimmer is rated for LED loads if you plan to use LED filament bulbs, as older TRIAC dimmers (leading-edge phase dimmers) can cause flicker with LED sources. A trailing-edge or LED-specific dimmer is generally the safer choice.
