Statement pendants are only truly impressive when they also work — and the gap between a beautiful image and a successfully specified fixture is wider than most people expect. With a large decorative piece like this, the questions around dimming compatibility, control protocol, and ceiling height are just as important as the finish choice.

For pendants of this scale and character, what separates a confident specification from a frustrating one is knowing exactly how the light behaves: how it dims, what control system it speaks to, and what the installation demands. Dimming protocols matter here — 0–10V and DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface, a two-wire control protocol that allows precise, individually addressable dimming) are both supported, giving specifiers meaningful flexibility.

The LZF Spiro Pendant, designed by Remedios Simón for Spanish manufacturer LZF, takes its cue from op art — the 1960s movement that used geometric forms to trick and delight the eye. At its core is a dense arrangement of irregular wood veneer spirals housed within a wide shallow drum frame, creating an interior structure that generates a constantly shifting play of shadow, depth, and warmth as light filters through. With a CRI of 90 (a measure of how accurately a light source renders colour, scored out of 100), the Spiro renders its surroundings with genuine fidelity. Rated IP20, it is suited to interior dry spaces.

The outer shell is available in Matt White, Matt Black, or Natural Cherry finishes. The internal veneer spirals come in a wide range of appearances — Sea Blue, Natural Beech, Natural Cherry, Ivory White, Pale Rose, Grey, Blue, Red, Orange, and Yellow — making this a genuinely customisable centrepiece. With 63 variants across finish, veneer colour, and control type, the Spiro can be tailored to suit everything from a calm residential interior to a bold commercial statement.

The Spiro supports both 0–10V and DALI dimming control — confirm your control system before specifying to ensure compatibility with your driver and dimmer setup. The suspension system uses four tension cables and a single power cord, allowing height adjustment to suit ceiling conditions. As with all LZF products, the veneer shade is a natural material; slight tonal variation between units is normal and expected.
