LZF Eris Pendant Light

Choosing a statement pendant is rarely just about aesthetics. The harder question is whether the piece will hold its presence in a considered interior without overwhelming it — or worse, looking like an afterthought once installed. Material honesty matters here, and it is easy to end up with something that photographs well but feels hollow in real life.

Glass and wood are a pairing that rewards craftsmanship. When the glass is hand-blown — meaning shaped by a maker, not a mould — it retains a quality of presence that mass-produced pieces simply cannot replicate. Borosilicate glass (a thermally stable, optically clear glass used in precision applications) offers clarity without distortion, letting the wood veneer cylinder within remain the visual focus. Light passes through the outer glass envelope and radiates outward in all directions, softening the room without pooling or hotspots.

The LZF Eris Pendant is a collaboration between LZF, one of Spain's most respected wood-veneer lighting houses, and Madrid-based design studio Mayice. Crafted with hand-blown borosilicate glass surrounding a cylindrical wood veneer core, the Eris is the first time LZF has combined these two materials in a single lamp. Its teardrop silhouette — an oversized, refined nod to the classic incandescent bulb form — hangs from a dark housing on a single black suspension cord, keeping the focus firmly on the glass and wood interplay. IP20 rated, it is suited to dry interior environments. Glass, wood, and technology are all crafted in Spain.

The Eris is available in five wood veneer finishes for the inner cylinder: Pale Rose, Natural Beech, Natural Cherry, Ivory White, and Sea Blue — each creating a noticeably different atmosphere as light passes through the veneer. The suspension housing and cord are available in Black or Aluminium, allowing the top detail to sit quietly or contrast with the ceiling. With ten variants in total, there is a combination suited to most interior palettes, from warm Japandi schemes to cooler contemporary interiors.

The Eris is rated IP20, meaning it is designed for dry indoor spaces only — living rooms, dining areas, hallways, and open-plan kitchens are all well within its brief. It is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use. As with all LZF pendants, confirm lamp type and driver requirements with your specification prior to ordering; the pendant housing and suspension are supplied as the decorative element, and lamp and driver compatibility should be verified at the point of specification.
