The LZF Agatha Pendant, designed by Luis Eslava, is one of the most distinctive expressions of this approach. Constructed from handmade strips of wood veneer bent and interlaced concentrically by hand, the shade forms a dense, swirling cloud-like volume that reads differently from every angle. Light escapes downward through the open base and laterally through the gaps between loops, casting intricate ambient patterns across surrounding surfaces. The canopy is finished in matte nickel.

Inspired by the iconic waved hairstyle of Agatha Christie, the form is sculptural without being fragile, and decorative without sacrificing output. The Agatha is available in a compact size well suited to positioning over a dining table, kitchen island, or as part of a cluster arrangement. Ten wood veneer finishes are available — Ivory White, Natural Cherry, Natural Beech, Yellow, Orange, Red, Blue, Grey, Sea Blue, and Pale Rose — giving wide scope for coordination with interior palettes.

As a lamped pendant, the Agatha requires a compatible bulb (not included). The open base and looped construction mean bulb choice will influence both light output and the character of shadows cast — a warmer filament-style lamp will typically complement the organic material beautifully.
