The material it's made from defines the quality of light it casts: wood veneer, for instance, filters and warms light in a way that no glass or fabric shade can replicate — the grain and natural flexibility of the material produce a diffused, amber-tinged glow through its structure, softening the room rather than illuminating it clinically.

The LZF Agatha Large Pendant is designed by Luis Eslava Studio and made in Spain by LZF, a manufacturer with over two decades of handcrafted wood veneer lighting behind them. The Agatha's defining character is its sculptural shade: broad, ribbon-like strips of handmade wood veneer curve and interlock concentrically, forming a voluminous, floral silhouette approximately 140 cm wide and 76 cm deep. Light diffuses downward and outward through the open gaps between the looping strips, casting layered patterns of light and shadow into the space — ambient in quality, theatrical in effect. The pendant canopy finish is matte nickel.

The Agatha's silhouette shifts character depending on the viewing angle, which is part of the point — it rewards a room with sightlines. It is available in a handsome range of wood veneer finishes: Ivory White, Natural Beech, Yellow, Orange, Grey, Turquoise, and Pale Rose, each achieved through LZF's proprietary veneer treatment process.

As a lamped pendant, bulb choice will influence both the warmth and brightness of the ambient effect — a warm white source (2700K or below) will complement the natural wood veneer beautifully. The suspension cable mounts via a ceiling canopy; given the shade's generous dimensions (140 × 144 × 76 cm), ceiling height and canopy positioning should be considered at the specification stage. LZF provides a 2-year product warranty.
