A semi-transparent internal diffuser shields the light source from direct view — reducing glare while softening the output — and the quality of the laser-cut pattern determines whether projected shadows feel intentional and designed, or simply messy. The Lodes Kelly Sphere Pendant is a ceiling-suspended, spherical statement light designed by Andrea Tosetto in 2015. It features a solid hemispherical upper cap and a precision laser-cut lower frame with an organic, web-like lattice pattern that casts complex shadow play across walls and surfaces when illuminated. An internal semi-transparent diffuser in glossy milk-white glass conceals the E27 light source and softens the ambient output. The fixture carries an IP40 rating, suitable for standard interior spaces.

The Kelly Sphere sits at the intersection of contemporary and tactile design — the contrast between the dense upper dome and the airy, intricate lower lattice gives it sculptural presence even when unlit. Three near-invisible steel suspension cables keep the sphere perfectly balanced and lend it a floating quality. It is currently available in Bronze. The Kelly Sphere is offered in three diameter sizes — 40 cm, 50 cm, and 80 cm — allowing it to scale from a focused feature pendant to a commanding centrepiece.

The Kelly Sphere is designed to house an E27 lamp, which is not included and should be specified separately. The fixture is rated IP40, making it appropriate for dry interior environments only — not suitable for bathroom zones or areas exposed to moisture. Suspension is via three steel cables from the ceiling canopy. No driver is required for this lamped fitting; standard E27 lamp holders operate directly from mains voltage.
