Lighting a canopy, veranda, or covered outdoor area sounds straightforward — until you realise most ceiling spotlights can't handle moisture, dazzle anyone who glances up, and lock you into a fixed beam direction. Getting the distribution wrong means dark corners and frustrated clients.

For outdoor ceiling applications, two things matter most: weather protection and directional control. IP55 is the minimum you should specify for a covered but exposed ceiling position — it means the fitting is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. Beam directionality matters too, because fixed spotlights can rarely adapt once installed. A modular, rotatable system gives you far more flexibility during commissioning and after.

The In-Lite Aim Outdoor Ceiling Spotlight answers both concerns directly. Designed and engineered in the Netherlands, the Aim features a patented waterproof modular connection that allows each unit to be expanded from one to up to three light sources without specialist tools. Each light head rotates a full 360° and tilts vertically, so the beam can be aimed precisely at any architectural feature, planting, or surface — and re-aimed if the brief changes. A built-in killflash (a louvred insert recessed into the cylindrical housing) cuts direct glare at source, which is particularly valuable at low ceiling heights where eye contact with the fitting is unavoidable.

The Aim's form is deliberately minimal: a slender cylindrical head on a clean stem with a flat circular mounting base, finished in a uniform matte metal construction with no visible hardware. This restraint makes it well-suited to contemporary architecture where the fitting should support the space rather than compete with it. Three variant configurations are available to match the number of light sources required for your scheme.

With a CRI of 90 — meaning colours appear close to how they would under natural daylight — and an IP55 rating, the Aim is ready for covered outdoor ceiling positions across residential and hospitality projects. The modular connection system is patented and waterproof, and each head ships with the killflash pre-fitted and non-removable.
