Elstead Christina Chandelier

Choosing a chandelier that works for both the room's proportions and its ceiling height is one of the most common specification challenges. Get it wrong and you're left with a fitting that either overwhelms the space or sits awkwardly close to the ceiling — or worse, both.

For rooms where ceiling height is variable or uncertain, convertibility matters. A chandelier that can be configured as a semi-flush fitting gives you real flexibility without compromising on the decorative impact — meaning the same product can work in a ground-floor room with generous ceiling height or a first-floor bedroom where drop space is limited.

The Elstead Christina Chandelier is a three-light decorative fitting designed and manufactured exclusively by Elstead in the United Kingdom. It combines curved metal arms with integrated leaf motifs, faceted crystal droplets in teardrop and pointed oval forms, and clear faceted bobeches — the disc-shaped crystal collars that sit beneath each candle sleeve, adding an extra layer of refractive detail. The distressed, antiqued metal finish gives the frame a weathered, vintage quality that contrasts beautifully with the clarity of the hanging crystals, creating a transitional aesthetic that bridges traditional and contemporary interiors.

The Christina is rated IP20, meaning it is suitable for use in dry interior spaces — living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, and bedrooms. It uses three flame-shaped candle bulbs (E14 base is typical for this style; confirm at specification stage), with the open-arm design allowing for wide, ambient light distribution across the room.

As a lamped fitting, lamp selection directly affects the quality and warmth of the light. Choose a warm white LED candle bulb (2700K is recommended for this style of fitting) to maintain the ambience the design is built for. The Christina is rated IP20 and is not suitable for bathrooms or humid zones. It is convertible to a semi-flush configuration — a valuable option where ceiling drop is restricted.
