The Project
A key aspect of this house is the use of natural materials that are allowed to take to the fore, and a clean, thoughtful lighting plan is paramount to this kind of approach. This is why Lightsource Studio were approached by the client to create a considered lighting scheme for this modern new build.
The client wanted to integrate a smart lighting system to the open plan area on the ground floor so that they had full control over lighting scenes in what would be their main entertaining space.
The Lighting
Our lighting experts knew that by using simple, yet impactful, feature lights and subtle architectural lighting in this project would harmonise beautifully with the architecture.
Feature pendants from Spanish company LZF were used over the island and in the stairwell to add warmth and continue the theme of natural, raw materials. The same can be said for the island pendants, Aplomb by Foscarini, made of hand poured concrete in Italy which create a concentrated beam onto the workspace below.
The architectural lighting is made up by Lightsource Studio’s own essentials range – consisting of high quality fittings that can be used in a wide range of applications. Favour spotlights were implemented in the kitchen to provide directional lighting at tall units, while plastered in Card lights illuminate the beautifully finished timber and concrete stairs.
