The Project
A conceptual design was brought forward to Lightsource Studio by the design and branding team involved with the creation of this wonderful distillery and visitors centre. Lightsource Studio were tasked with bringing the lighting elements of the concept to life.
Lightsource Studio have supplied the front of house lighting to Hinch Distillery. With a combination of architectural downlights, LED strip, designer light fittings and an array of bespoke pieces on show.
The Lighting
The Reception Area: It is impossible to miss the giant feature barrels as you walk through the entrance of the visitors centre at Hinch Distillery. The barrels have been illuminated with pendants and Tala lamps. Multiple decorative pieces from Visual comfort, including chandeliers and wall lights, are positioned throughout the space. Architectural downlights and LED strip have been implimented to ensure legal lighting levels were met and warm LED strip accent lighting compliments almost every linear surface.
The Introduction Room: The first area you will enter on your tour will display a large, bespoke, linear pendant, manufactured by our bespoke team. Warm white LED Strip, again, highlights the bespoke joinery throughout the room.
The Tasting Room: Shelving at each end of the room has been backlit with high quality LED pannels, to showcase the unique colours of the whiskey at its various stages of production. The enormous oval pendant that hangs over the table has been commissioned and manufactured by the Lightsource Studio bespoke team.
The Stills: Powerful and warm track lighting has been implimented to illuminate the showpiece of the entire building. The three stills have been named after mountains in the local area, the Mournes.
Bars & Restaurants: In the smaller upstairs bar, Visual Comfort Chandeliers, table lamps and wall lamps are present with LED strip showcasing the masterful joinery work.
Wedding Venue: Ireland’s newest wedding venue has a truly upmarket feel. Pendants with dark metal structures and contrasting fabric match the dark joinery of the central bar area. The crystal chandeliers run down the centre of the venue. More Visual wall lamps surround the interior of the building to add another layer of light.
