The Lighting
In July 2018, Edinburgh’s St Andrew Square welcomed with opened gastronomic arms the very first Scottish Hawksmoor restaurant by childhood friends Will Beckett & Huw Gott (Hawksmoor Group). One of the UK’s best known and highly regarded restaurants have breathed new life into the Grade A listed banking hall of the former Royal Bank of Scotland.
Our interior design client behind this rejuvenation project was Macaulay Sinclair. As with all Hawksmoor sites, the Macaulay Sinclair team ‘meticulously source reclaimed and vintage furniture adding to the restaurant’s authenticity’.
The lighting had been carefully selected, with lights sourced from a Dutch Art Deco hotel and the team at Lightsource Studio being tasked with creating a series of bespoke fittings made with original Holophone glass, again, sourced by the team from America. Lightsource Studio worked closely with the design team in delivering a beautiful set of glass blown wall lamps, which we had our factory produce from approved technical drawings.
