Situated on Lord Edward Street, the Hard Rock Hotel Dublin stands out as one of the premier accommodations in the heart of Dublin city. Boasting 120 lavish guest bedrooms and suites, each appointed to an exceptional standard, the hotel's decor highlights original artwork and memorabilia centred around music with a distinct Irish connection.
Zampas bar and restaurant within the hotel transports the vibrant flavours of Peru to Lord Edward Street, infusing Dublin's heart with bold and generous Peruvian cuisine.
The Project
Lightsource Studio were tasked with sourcing a wide variety of both architectural and decorative lighting throughout the hotel. Paramount to the design was highlighting the memorabilia and artwork the Hard Rock brand is known for incorporating into its interiors. With a number of bespoke elements to this project, it was extremely important to ensure the designer’s ideas were realised and brought to life.
The Lighting
In the Lobby and Reception, sculptures, artwork and memorabilia adorn walls and ceilings. In order to effectively light these without distracting from the stylish interior, Lightsource Studio incorporated ceiling spotlights and track mounted spotlights, allowing maximum flexibility for moving and changing direction of lights.
Lightsource Studio worked closely with the designers, Douglas Wallace, to design the bedroom table lamps which were made bespoke. Though simple and unobtrusive in their design, the copper metal sits harmoniously with other more dramatic elements in the bedrooms.
In the Zampas Bar, an intricate, custom chandelier was made to swirl through the different seating areas, taking inspiration from a treble clef. The design of this had to work in and around services as well as seating areas below to ensure it felt harmonious within the space.
