Client Description
The renowned four-star Europa Hotel has been dominating the Belfast city centre skyline for more than five decades, welcoming distinguished personalities from around the globe and hosting a multitude of prestigious events over the years.
The Project
After completion of the bedrooms and other public areas of the hotel, Lightsource Studio were once again approached to assist with sourcing and specifying the lights on the second phase of works. Levels 2 and 12 are home to meeting rooms and function suites, and Lightsource Studio were keen to ensure continuity from the previous phase, without reusing the same fittings again.
The Lighting
Simply and tastefully executed, the large Meeting Room has been minimally lit with the Essential’s LED downlight, highlighting the craftsmanship of the fitted furniture along one wall.
Lightsource Studio’s own range of LED tape was used in coffered ceilings to create a glow of indirect light, adding some drama to the Lobby and Function Suites. Large brass chandeliers with clear globes adorn the rotunda on the second floor creating a stunning centrepiece to the hotel’s Business Centre.
Bespoke ceiling shades were designed and manufactured under Lightsource Studio’s instruction, which line the front facing corridors of the twelfth floor. Gold and black chandeliers from Linea Light are a modern addition to the main Function Suite, impressively lighting up the metallic wallpaper inside the coffer.
