The Project
The newly rejuvenated Cathedral Gardens are situated beside St. Anne’s Cathedral and the University of Ulster campus, in the heart of Belfast. A colourful focal point was required to emphasise the modern aesthetic present throughout the beautiful public space.
Cathedral Gardens is an outdoor space for students and city centre workers to meet and relax in this increasingly popular area.
The Lighting
We have used Rubber from Linea Light. Rubber is a new and flexible IP67 RGBW LED strip that we have mounted on the inside of the facade of the cuboidal structure. The high quality and homogeneous light output from rubber has allowed us to create a homogenous, colourful glow in all areas of the installation. Rubber automatically cycles through several predefined colour schemes to create a variety of different effects and atmospheres in the centre of the gardens.
