The Lighting
Lightsource Studio were tasked with creating a special atmosphere in each of the newly refurbished bedrooms at the Europa Hotel.
Downlights from Flua ensured that glare was kept to a minimum with their low glare baffle, helping to create a homogenous and comfortable level of light. They proved to be a high quality and cost effective solution. Warm, recessed LED strip has been used in the bathrooms to add to the luxurious feel.
The Brass bedside reader lights and wall lights were designed by Mark Higgins from RPP Architects. We took the concept to our manufacturers and produced a stylish and exclusive set of bedside lights for each room. Employing Lightsource Studio for our bespoke lighting services allowed for a high quality finish, exclusivity and a budget friendly solution.
The Engineer on the project opted for Linea Light Cell downlights in the centre of the corridors. These downlights are what create the ‘pools’ of light that you see in all of the corridors. They also allow for great optic control, meaning, there is little to no glare. Asymmetric downlights have been used to project light onto the room number signs.
