The Project
Our client came to us for lighting advice for their kitchen refurb in their beautiful period home in the heart of Ballyhackamore. The mix of period details and the clean lines of their modern kitchen required some clever design choices.
The client desired pendant lights to adorn their new 3m kitchen island. Due to the low ceiling height, two 60cm Djembe pendants by Marset were skillfully selected, enhancing the space with a statement feature. These pendants seamlessly integrate with the existing kitchen lighting and functional spotlighting, resulting in a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing ambiance.
An additional suggestion included the clever use of Follow Me portable table lamps from Marset to enhance the kitchen’s ambiance. These lamps not only contribute to the indoor atmosphere but can also be easily transported to outdoor dining areas, making them a versatile addition to any outdoor living space.
Having created such a beautiful space in the kitchen the client then asked for some help with the lighting in their living/dining area. Working alongside the clients interior designer a clever use of functional and decorative lighting was selected to create both a relaxing and inviting space.
The lighting throughout this project were all carefully chosen to give a modern feel to this period property without detracting from the original features within the home. Evoking a calming effect in each room whilst also being incredibly functional. The client was very pleased with the results as were the Lightsource Studio team.
The Lighting
Kitchen:
The 2 large Djembe surface-mounted fittings were the perfect statement piece for this modern kitchen. Astro minima in white have been selected for their minimal trim and low glare.
Dining area:
The Ginger pendant and wall light from Marset are a great choice for cosy lighting. The combination of sheets of wood, paper and resins pressed together under high pressure achieves a laminate that appears almost flat.
Living area:
The Clarkson Floor Lamp by Visual Comfort in black with brass detail adds a cosy inviting feel for some evening relaxing.
