What does the IP44 rating mean, and where can this fitting be used in a bathroom?
IP44 means the fitting is protected against water splashing from any direction. This qualifies it for Zone 2 use — areas within 60cm of a shower or bath — as well as general bathroom spaces further from water sources. It's the standard rating for vanity and mirror wall lights in residential bathrooms.

Does this fitting come with bulbs included?
Yes. The Quintiesse Keynes is supplied with G9 LED bulbs, so you don't need to source lamps separately. It's ready to install straight out of the box.

Can I install this fitting with the shades pointing upwards or downwards?
Yes — the symmetrical arm design allows the fixture to be mounted either way. This gives you flexibility depending on the wall position, ceiling height, and the light distribution you want to achieve.

Can I dim this fitting, and what do I need to check?
G9 LED lamps are often dimmable, but compatibility depends on the specific bulbs supplied and your dimmer switch. Not all standard dimmers work correctly with LED G9 lamps. Before specifying a dimmer, confirm it is rated for LED loads — a trailing-edge or specifically LED-compatible dimmer is usually the safest choice. If dimming is important, get in touch and we can help confirm compatibility.

How is the fitting mounted to the wall?
The Keynes is surface-mounted via a central circular canopy plate that sits flush against the wall. Mounting hardware is included and visible within the canopy design. No special recess or back-box depth beyond a standard UK single back box is required, though we recommend confirming exact dimensions against your wall construction before installation.
