What does IP44 mean, and where can I install the Trellis lantern?
IP44 means the fitting is protected against particles larger than 1mm and water splashing from any direction. It's suitable for covered entrances, sheltered terraces, and protected wall positions — but not for fully exposed locations subject to direct rain or sea spray. For exposed coastal positions, a higher IP rating (IP65 or above) would be a safer specification.

Is a bulb included, and what type of lamp does it take?
No lamp is included with the Trellis lantern. It has a single internal socket, giving you the flexibility to choose your preferred lamp — useful if you want to match a specific colour temperature (warmth of light) or integrate with an existing dimming circuit. Check the socket type before ordering your bulb.

Can the Trellis lantern be dimmed?
Dimmability depends on the lamp you fit and the dimmer switch on your circuit. The fitting itself doesn't include a driver or built-in dimming — so if dimming is important to your project, choose a dimmable lamp and confirm your dimmer is compatible with that lamp type. We can advise on suitable combinations.

Which size should I choose — Small, Medium, or Large?
The right size depends on the scale of the wall, entrance, or gate pier it's mounted to. As a general guide, taller or wider façades read better with Medium or Large; smaller doorways or courtyard walls suit the Small. If you're unsure, share a photo of the space with us and we'll give you an honest recommendation.

What is the warranty on the Hinkley Trellis?
