FAQs

What does IP44 mean, and where can I install this lantern?
IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid particles larger than 1mm and against water splashing from any direction. It is well suited to covered porches, sheltered entranceways, and typical exterior wall positions. It is not intended for locations exposed to direct jets of water or heavy rain without overhead protection.

Does the lantern come with a bulb?
No lamp is included. The fitting uses a standard E27 Edison screw cap — a widely available fitting. We recommend the Litec E27 A60 (8W, 800lm, 3000K, dimmable) as a compatible accessory, which delivers a warm, classic light quality well suited to this style of lantern.

Can I dim this lantern?
Dimming depends on the lamp you choose, not the fitting itself. Select a dimmable E27 lamp and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. Always check that the lamp and dimmer are specified to work together — not all dimmable bulbs are compatible with all dimmer types.

What sizes and finishes are available?
The Mount Vernon wall lantern is available in Small, Medium, and Large, and in Black or Old Bronze finishes. Dimensions and weights vary by size, so it is worth confirming the exact measurements before specifying to ensure the proportions suit your wall and facade.

Is a driver or transformer required?
No. The E27 lamp cap operates directly on mains voltage, so no separate driver or transformer is needed. Standard wiring to a switched mains supply is all that is required for installation.
