What does IP44 mean and where can the Merrill be installed?
IP44 means the fitting is protected against small solid particles and water splashing from any direction. It is well suited to sheltered exterior walls, porches, and covered entrances. It is not recommended for positions exposed to direct driving rain or high-pressure water.

What lamp does the Elstead Merrill take?
The Merrill is rated for lamps up to 60W. Lamp base type and bulb format should be confirmed at point of ordering — our team can advise on the correct LED equivalent to ensure compatibility and energy efficiency.

Is a driver or transformer required?
No. The Merrill is a standard mains-voltage wall lantern and does not require a separate driver or transformer. It connects directly to a standard exterior mains supply.

Can the Merrill be dimmed?
Dimming capability depends on the lamp you install. The fitting itself does not include integrated dimming circuitry. If dimming is required, specify a dimmable LED lamp and a compatible leading- or trailing-edge dimmer — we can advise on the right combination.
