What does IP44 mean and where can I install this lantern?
IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid objects over 1mm and splashing water from any direction. It's suitable for open facade positions, covered porches, and sheltered entryways — but not for locations directly exposed to high-pressure water or submersion.

Is a lamp included with the Baltimore lantern?
No lamp is included. The fitting has a single internal lamp socket, so you'll need to specify a compatible bulb. We recommend confirming lamp type and wattage at the specification stage, particularly if you plan to use a dimmer switch.

Which size should I choose — Medium or Large?
Scale relative to your facade and door width is the deciding factor. As a general guide, larger door surrounds and double-entry setups suit the Large; single doorways and more modest elevations typically work better with the Medium. We're happy to advise based on your project drawings or photos.

Does the anti-corrosion warranty cover coastal environments like Mallorca?
Elstead backs the Baltimore with a 3-year anti-corrosion warranty, which is directly relevant for coastal and high-humidity locations. Can this lantern be used with a dimmer switch?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the lamp type you install. LED lamps in particular require a compatible TRIAC or leading-edge dimmer — the wrong dimmer can cause flicker or reduced lamp life. Confirm your lamp choice first, then match the dimmer accordingly. We can help you get this right before you order.
