What does IP44 mean and where can I install the Baltimore lantern?
IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid particles larger than 1mm and water splashing from any direction. This makes it suitable for covered exterior locations such as porches, loggias, and sheltered terraces — but it is not rated for fully exposed, open positions where rain falls directly onto the fitting.

Does the Baltimore come with a lamp or bulb included?
No — the Baltimore uses a single lamp socket but lamps are not included. This gives you the flexibility to choose your preferred light source type and colour temperature. We can advise on suitable lamp options if needed.

Which size should I choose — Medium or Large?
The right size depends on the proportions of the space. As a general guide, larger entrance porticos and high-ceilinged loggias tend to suit the Large, while smaller covered areas and tighter ceiling heights are better served by the Medium. We are happy to advise based on your specific dimensions.

Can the drop height be adjusted to suit my ceiling?
Yes — the Baltimore suspends via a metal chain from a ceiling canopy, and the chain length can be adjusted to set the hanging height to suit your installation.

Is the Baltimore suitable for coastal locations in Mallorca?
Elstead provides a 3-year anti-corrosion warranty on the Baltimore, which gives practical reassurance for coastal environments. The IP44 rating covers weather protection in sheltered positions. For open coastal exposures, we would recommend discussing your specific installation conditions with us before specifying.
