elstead-franklin-desk-lamp
Elstead Franklin Desk Lamp

Choosing a desk or task lamp often comes down to more than looks — get the lamp type wrong, or overlook dimming compatibility, and you end up with a light that either won't dim at all or flickers every time you adjust it. It's one of the most common specification frustrations, and it's entirely avoidable.

The Franklin is an E27 lamped fitting, which means it uses a standard Edison screw bulb — the large, most common fitting size. The lamp itself is not included, which gives you full control over light output, colour temperature, and dimming behaviour. Elstead confirm compatibility with dimmable smart lamps, so if you're using a smart home system or simply want the convenience of app or voice control, you can specify accordingly without rewiring or adding a wall dimmer.

The Elstead Franklin Desk Lamp is a portable table lamp designed for placement on desks, side tables, or bedside surfaces. Its sweeping polished chrome C-arm creates an architectural silhouette that balances visual lightness with structural confidence, while the wide spun metal dome shade directs light downward — ideal for task and ambient use in living spaces, home offices, or hospitality settings.

The Franklin's mid-century modern character comes from the contrast between the high-shine chrome arm and the smooth, opaque dome shade. A short slitted neck detail where the arm meets the shade adds a subtle industrial accent without disrupting the lamp's clean lines. The Franklin is available in two appearance options: Grey and Cream.

As a portable, plug-in table lamp, the Franklin requires no installation beyond placing it on a surface and fitting your chosen E27 bulb. No driver, transformer, or fixed wiring is needed. Elstead offer a warranty of 2–20 years depending on the model, reflecting the build confidence behind their UK-engineered range.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we specify the Franklin because it solves a real problem elegantly: a design-forward task lamp that doesn't lock you into a proprietary bulb or a fixed dimming method. Whether you're furnishing a villa bedroom, a home office, or a boutique hospitality space, we'll help you select the right E27 source to match your ambience and control preferences — the right product, specified right, delivered without the guesswork.
