elstead-belfry-2-light-wall-light-in-black
Elstead Belfry Decorative Wall Sconce

Decorative wall lighting often looks effortless in a mood board and complicated in reality — the wrong fixture in the wrong space can undermine an entire scheme. With traditional-style sconces in particular, the details matter: the quality of the metalwork, the proportion of the arms, and whether the piece reads as authentic or merely imitative.

For this style of fitting, the key decisions are around placement, lamp choice, and the visual weight the fixture contributes to a wall. A two-arm sconce like this creates bilateral symmetry and dual illumination points — useful for flanking a mirror, a fireplace, or a corridor — while the candelabra format softens the light source into something that feels warm and atmospheric rather than functional.

The Elstead Belfry Decorative Wall Sconce is a hardwired, two-light candelabra sconce finished in a matte dark metal — likely wrought iron or dark steel in character. It mounts via a circular backplate from which two elegantly curved arms sweep downward and outward, each terminating in a shallow drip pan, a white cylindrical candle sleeve, and a flame-shaped bulb. A vertical rod rises above the mounting plate and is capped with a five-petalled floral motif, while a second, larger floral element anchors the centre of the circular plate. Twisted spiral metal finials beneath each candle holder, terminating in small spheres, complete the ornamental detail — a combination that sits comfortably in rustic, traditional, or heritage interiors.

The high-contrast pairing of white candle sleeves against the dark frame gives the Belfry a classic, period-appropriate character without tipping into pastiche. The metalwork detail is deliberate and layered — this is a fitting designed to be noticed. As a single accent piece or installed in a symmetrical pair, it contributes genuine ambience to hallways, living rooms, dining spaces, or stairwells.

The Belfry is designed for hardwired wall installation and uses candle-type bulbs — E14 or similar small Edison screw format — to maintain the traditional candelabra appearance. Lamp selection is at the specifier's discretion; flame-tip LED candle bulbs are recommended to preserve the aesthetic while meeting energy requirements. No driver is required for this lamped fitting. The fixture carries a two-year manufacturer's warranty.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we work with established British brands like Elstead precisely because their catalogue depth and manufacturing consistency make specification straightforward.
